  5. “My Low Back’s Killing Me! I’m Desperate for Relief.”

“You’re my last resort.”

Such familiar words to chiropractors, me included.
When all else fails, folks hesitantly come to me—
worried, scared, always desperate.

Desperate for relief from constant, grinding pain
that doesn’t let up. Weeks, months, and, yes,
even years of pain.

Could be lower back pain, upper back, neck pain, hip
and leg pain, pounding headaches, or all of the above.

Pain is chewing you up alive, destroying your life.

You’ve tried everything else. Anti-inflammatories, steroids,
pain killers, therapy, massage, exercise, rest, hot, cold,
maybe injections and/or surgery.

Pain pushes you to do whatever the doctors tell you to do.
In the end, when nothing works, you’re told:

“We’ve done everything we can do.
You just have to live with the pain.”

A gut-wrencing sucker punch!

Gripping pain, no solution, no hope.

Now what?

Somehow, meandering through a maze of rabbit trails
with lots of dead ends, some of these medical “cast-offs”
make their way to me, a chiropractor.

A chiropractor who uses her human senses—hearing, sight,
and touch—as well as precision instruments and decades
of experience, to help those crying for relief.

Many say, “At this point, I’ll try anything.”

Guess I’m that “anything.”

I don’t mind being their “anything” or the “last resort.” In fact,
I’m used to it.

Even at the bottom of the heap, I’m always honored
and thrilled to give people the opportunity to receive
the spinal care and the pain relief they seek.

To offer hope.

Chiropractor: First Choice, Not Last Resort.

However, my heart hurts when I think of all the people
who could be helped with chiropractic care. People who
suffer way too long—NEEDLESSLY, sometimes endlessly.

If a chiropractor can ease back pain AFTER all else has
failed, just think of the months and years of pain and suffering
that can be prevented, stopped in its tracks, shortly after
the pain starts.

Sadly, it would take a cataclysmic shift
in our healthcare system
for chiropractors
to be prioritized as a first-choice option,
rather than a last-ditch attempt to get rid
of chronic, persistent pain that wrecks
your life.

That shift can ONLY happen IF:

=> Primary care physicians embrace the value of
chiropractic
for their patients and are willing to refer
them to chiropractors, especially those with chronic
lower back pain, neck pain, headaches, and other
spine-related pain. <Click here>

=> You take full responsibility for your back pain and
health and search for solutions out of the traditional
“medical box.” Namely, chiropractic.

People rave about chiropractic. <click here>

Chiropractors witness the pain-to-no-pain phenomenon
every day in their offices.

Research gives a strong two thumbs up for chiropractic
and its effectiveness for low back pain.

For example: One 2022 study published in “Spine”, a highly
respected medical journal, reported that the “Initial Choice of
Spinal Manipulation [chiropractic care] Reduces Escalation of
Care for Chronic Low Back Pain . . .”

In other words, reputable researchers in the medical
camp actually published for all the world to see:

Chiropractic first, not last. <click here>

Yet, you, right along with your medical doctor, may still
pooh-pooh chiropractic and its power to free you from pain
and help you get your life back.

So What Stops YOU From Going to a
Chiropractor?

As a practicing Doctor of Chiropractic for forty years, I
understand some of the whys for not choosing chiropractic
care, even after all traditional medical professionals
have failed to get rid of your pain.

1. Maybe chiropractic is not even on your radar. You’ve
never heard of a chiropractor, much less considered
going to one.

2. Maybe you’ve heard of chiropractors but don’t understand
what they do or what issues they can help. Trying something
unfamiliar or new can be scary, especially when you’re in pain.

3. Maybe, in the past, you weren’t helped by a chiropractor
or, even worse, hurt. You don’t want to take the chance
of hurting worse than you already do. Understandable.

– Chiropractors use many different methods. Some
methods require more force and twisting-type movements,
causing a “popping” sound. Some people prefer those
kinds of adjustments.

– Other people prefer gentle, painless, “no-popping, no-twisting”
methods which require precision instruments which deliver
pressure to key areas of your spine and other areas,
like jaw, head, knees, feet, and joints.

If fear prevents you from seeking
chiropractic care, perhaps pursuing
gentler methods would help ease
those fears.

4. Maybe you’ve been thinking about seeing a chiropractor
but haven’t a clue which one would be best for you.

Suggestion: Take the time to interview chiropractors
face-to-face. Many chiropractors offer free consultations
for that very reason.

Start care ONLY if you feel comfortable with that
chiropractor!

5. Maybe your medical doctor told you NOT to go to
a chiropractor. In compliance with doctor’s orders,
you never check out chiropractic for yourself.

6. Maybe you’ve heard negative comments about
chiropractors in general or about a specific chiropractor.

Unknowingly, you may assume that all chiropractors
are all alike: “One-size-fits all.” Not so.

One person’s encounter with one chiropractor is not
universal for all encounters with all chiropractors.

Not even close.

Pain Trumps Fear.

Frankly, no matter what your doctor, friend, spouse,
heresay, or research says, you won’t know if chiropractic
is right for you until you give it a try.

One of my new patients this week had no idea if I could
help her or not. For eleven years, she’d been living with
terrible low back and leg pain.

No one had been able to help her.

Even worse, she said she was scared to death. Years
before, she had been hurt by a chiropractor. Had no
intention of seeing a chiropractor again–ever!

Of course, she was scared.

However, she had been in so much pain for so long
that her desperation trumped her fear.

An all too familiar story . . . this time with a happy ending!

After her first spinal adjustment, the pain
was gone.
She was stunned. Her smile
priceless. The tears flowed. Tears of
relief. Tears of joy. Tears of gratitude.

She told me the next day I was going to have
to teach
her how to live without pain!

Experiencing is Believing.

The only way to find out if chiropractic can help you
is to take that first bold step.

Seek the right chiropractor for you.

Experience for yourself the chiropractic pain-to-no-pain
phenomenon.

Only then will you be able to FEEL the extraordinary difference
chiropractic makes in your own body and in your life.

Chiropractic: first choice, last resort, or not at all?

Your pain. Your body. Your life. Your choice.
